Siesta



Afternoon naps.

Are a necessity for toddlers.

And favored by those on the other end of the age spectrum, the elderly.

But what if you don’t fit into either of those categories?

Should we just power through each day, even on the weekends?

A friend of ours from the East Coast takes a 15-20 minute nap every day.

One summer, the four of us were wandering around Balboa Park when he announced, “That looks like a good tree, I think I’ll go lie down.”

I found this a wee bit odd since he was pre-AARP and quite physically active, having built his own home and barn.

That was a couple of years ago.

Now I think a siesta would be perfectly acceptable and quite refreshing…
